The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi, has reopened the admission process for private schools under the disability quota. This move offers a renewed opportunity for children with disabilities to secure admission in nursery, kindergarten, and Class I under the reserved category.
Why Has the Admission Window Reopened?
Despite the initial registration round, several seats reserved for the disability quota remained vacant in private schools. To fill these seats, the DoE has announced a fresh round of applications starting June 2.
How to Apply?
Interested and eligible students, along with their parents, can apply online through the official lottery-based admission portal of the DoE.
An official stated:
“To ensure transparency and accurate document verification, 29 zonal teams have been formed. These teams will coordinate with the respective schools for the verification process.”
Important Dates to Remember:
- Previous admission cycle closed: May 25
- Registration reopens: June 2
- Document submission dates: June 10 to June 14 (between 10 AM and 5 PM)
Key Points for Parents:
- Students already enrolled in any school will not be eligible for transfer under this process.
- Once a seat is allotted through the lottery system, schools cannot deny admission. If any school refuses admission, parents can file a complaint with the Directorate of Education.
